Alan owned, trained and shod Standardbred race horses in B.C. in his late teens and early twenties. As life unfolded, he decided to take his farrier work and training skills to the riding horse/show horse and competition area. He reluctantly left the race horse business but realized it was always in his blood. Alan went to the races as much as he could, kept in touch with the people in the Backstretch and is now entering into the racehorse world again. Lucky Horseshoe Ranch will be boarding Standardbred racehorses along with having brood mares and young ones kicking around in the near future.
